This position will be located at Kuala Lumpur Sentral (Menara 1 Sentral) and it is easy to get to by public transportation as it is located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Purpose

We are seeking for a skilled and experienced Accounts Manager - Wilhelmsen Vessel Accounting with expertise in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to join our dynamic finance team.

The Manager has the overall responsibility for quality of financial reporting and improvement and execution of Wilhelmsen Vessel Accounting (WVA) transformation projects and finance operation.

The Manager will be responsible to carry out the Vessel Accounting activities as per main responsibilities:

i)to ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly financial reports, quarterly budget follow up reports,

ii)to ensure group responsibilities are attained,

iii)to ensure harmonious working relationship between group members and with other teams and assist Head of Vessel Accounting in any ad hoc task which may arise.

Interrelations

Reporting to Head of Vessel Accounting and closely working with members of the group and corporate accounting. Also having liaison with management centers, and internal/external stakeholders.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Financial Reporting:

Lead the preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with WSM policy & procedures and US GAAP.

Support the preparation quarterly and annual reports information, ensuring processes compliance with regulatory requirements.

Deliverables to vessel owners in accordance with appropriate accounting standards and reporting requirements.

Ensure completion of month end close activities, checklist and financial reporting package to vessel owners.

Collaborate with Technical management, Vessel owners, Manning, Procurement and other teams to gather information and support accurate and comprehensive financial reporting and analysis.

Governance Compliance:

Oversee adherence to governance policies and procedures, GIMS, maintaining a strong internal control environment.

Lead improvement in efficiency and effectiveness in processes, KPIs, and Annual Operating Plans.

Implement, develop and promulgate improvement to processes, procedures and application systems.

Audit Collaboration:

Work closely with internal & external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.

Achieve satisfactory audit and other regulatory reviews.

Leadership:

Supervise and mentor a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improve way of working.

Effective communication on changes and actively seek continuous improvement in work processes.

Accountabilities

Accurate and timeliness of monthly reports and budget follow up report.

Vessel owners receive high quality financial reporting package.

Management centers receive prompt reply to queries.

Achieve KPI target and initiatives of Annual Operating Plan.

Implement identified projects.

Qualifications

Mandatory requirements

Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent in professional accounting body

Experienced in finance and accounting of US MNC, US GAAP and/or IFRS.

Minimum 8 years working experience in a related field and having experiences in General Ledger and Audit

Effective communication at all levels.
