Advisor, Product Offer Management

Product Offer Management is key to deploying and managing product data for initial release of our products and any engineering changes that follow. The team is also crucial to managing products and peripheral components though product release and the associated change activities post release. Put simply, they help to keep our game-changing products at their ground-breaking best. Along the way, the team works directly with diverse functions to help guide project management in the definition, design, building and shipping of systems configuration requirements.

As Global Product Offer Manager you are required to lead and deliver our operational efforts during this time of exciting transformation. The role is to own and manage all aspects of product data from inception to go live on Dells order management systems. This will involve cooperation and team work, utilizing problem solving skills and using your initiative to define the best and most efficient method of completing a task and sharing best practices across the global organization.

Validates, processes and verifies Product Data. Ensures data integrity does not fall below established departmental expectations.

Coordinates activities in support of assigned commodities with appropriate customers to establish product schedules and release activities.

Methodically directs Product Data change control activities by researching, analyzing and validating Product Data in accordance with configuration management guidelines, specifications, documentation and alerts to ensure valid information through the release of PD.

Prioritizes and routes Product Data for new product launches and sustaining data change requests through the product life cycle, ensuring all relevant and appropriate approvals are in place.

Minimizes the amounts of change requests associated to the Product Data in Work in Process (WIP) by improving status and follow-up techniques with customers.

Validates and verifies all Product Data is compliant with customer expectations e.g. Marketing, Pricing, Online, New Product Information (NPI), and ensures Engineering Change Order (ECO) package is complete in accordance to Product Group Configuration Management (PGCM) and Product Group Documentation Services (PGDS) documentation standards prior to review and final approved distribution.

How:

You will interface with various teams within Dell to identify technical, marketing and data requirements and apply them to product data within our internal and external facing systems including Dell.com. Networking and building relationships with team members will be critical to your success.

Ownership and governance of all aspects of product data. You need to project manage and utilize the resources you have available to you to ensure quality and alignment with Dells strategic goals. You must drive the T minus schedule to ensure quality and audit checks are complete to 100% accuracy.

Proactively manage and coordinate product data updates/maintenance and issue resolution using global processes and tools.

Be a leader in implementing process improvements, define and envisage global solutions and influencing their global organizational rollout.

Complete global project deployments by means of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business requirement generation and interfacing with IT teams.

Identify opportunities to develop and implement long-term operational efficiencies and process improvements, this will include working cross-functionally with organizations such as sales, demand/supply, finance, IT, marketing, engineering and more.

Participate in 2 projects per year that influence GOPO and Dells strategic objectives.

Essential Requirements

Efficient and accurate in handling and manipulating data, motivated and goal driven; deliver to deadlines.

Able to work flexible hours and/or weekends as occasionally required and ability to assimilate high volumes of technical information and draw inferences.

An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, comfortable communicating to senior management.

Comfortable leading project groups and has strong influencing skills. Flexible, adaptable and an active team player.

Understanding of product configuration/validation principles and PMP or equivalent project management methodology certification would be an advantage.

Desirable Requirements:

Undergraduate degree and 6+ years relevant experience.

Motivated and goal driven; deliver to deadlines.
