The aerospace Engineer - Manufacturing is responsible for developing, optimizing and supporting manufacturing processes for aerospace components and products. This role ensures production efficiency, quality compliance, cost effectiveness, and alignment with aerospace industry standards. The engineer works closely with design, production, quality and supply chain teams to bring aerospace hardware from concept to full-scale manufacturing
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement manufacturing processes for aerospace components, assemblies and systems
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process planning, tooling development and manufacturing readiness reviews
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability, cost effectiveness and compliance with aerospace specifications
Lead process optimization to improve cycle time, yield and throughput
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Support configuration control, engineering change management and documentation updates
Monitor and maintain process capability using statiscal tools (SPC, DOE, FMEA)
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as AS9100, NADCAP and customer-specific requirement
Coordinate with suppliers on qualification, tooling and production readiness
Provide technical support to operations, test and quality teams during production escalations
Oversee equipment validation, calibration and preventive maintenance plans
Prepare technical reports, process documentation, work instructions and manufacturing BOMs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience in aerospace manufacturing, precision machining, composites or electronics assembly is an advantage
Strong understanding of aerospace materials, processes, GD&T, and quality standards
Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools and manufacturing simulation software
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with DFMA (Design of Manufacturability and Assembly)
Familiarity with testing standards, environmental qualification and flight-certification requirements
Hands-on experience with automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies
Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally in fast-paced environment
