The Payroll Services Professional will execute payroll services and administration including managing day to day payroll inputs, regular and off cycle approvals, and issue management.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage day to day payroll processing, approvals, and issue management
Ensure accurate preparation and balancing of semi-monthly and special payrolls, payroll balance sheet and summaries
Handle additions and changes to hourly payroll and payroll related items (i.e., salary changes, tax withholding, loans and deferrals, general deductions etc.) using the appropriate payroll system
Handle various authorized payroll adjustments, e.g., garnishments, manual computation of gross and net pay, vacation pay, bonuses, dividends, etc.
Verify receipt of all inbound payroll interfaces and loads
Perform gross and review net payroll calculation
Create & review direct deposit error and check files
Review all time & attendance reporting in time keeping system and follow up with Manager to ensure approval of hours
Verify application of all pay rules per the union contract where applicable
Qualified candidates will have: Mandatory requirements:
A diploma/bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related field
5 years of work experience in payroll with direct customer interaction
Able to communicate in English
Required behaviors and skills:
Exhibits strong payroll management expertise and command of relevant process intersection points, policies, and procedures
Detail-oriented execution of routine and complex payroll processes
Possesses working knowledge of HR policies, practices, and procedures
Strong time management skills, work ethic, integrity, and personal accountability
Desirable requirements:
Proficient use of EasyPay, Workday, and MS Office
Ability to develop and interpret intricate procedural documentation
Ability to use technology to improve and automate activities
Ability to follow standard operating procedures and strict policy guidelines
Problem-solving skills and a customer service orientation
Flexibility to work extended hours to ensure payrolls are processed timely and accurately
