We are looking for a transport category manager to join our APAC procurement transformation and become part of an exciting journey towards a centralized procurement organization.
We would like open-minded candidates with strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, who have experience in dealing with as well as driving organizational & functional change management.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The APAC Transport Category Manager is acting as the expenditure owner of the transport category and thereby \xe2\x80\xa6

Will drive strategic category management to ensure AL organization matches market benchmark in terms of best practices and technologies and as such become a critical business partner to AL\xe2\x80\x99s internal business lines .

Will be responsible for coordinating all external procurement activities for the category across APAC, including the development and implementation of category strategies (short, mid and long term) & plans to support designated APAC-wide strategic objectives.

Will promote internal collaboration, knowledge sharing, compliance with best practices and established category management processes.

Missions and Responsibilities

Accountable and responsible for the development of category factbases & strategies and associated processes

Accountable for the execution of strategic sourcing initiatives

Manage strategic governance for respective category

Develop & maintain strong stakeholder relationships in order to drive strategy adoption and category transformation

Track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact

Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance

Champion and facilitate the adoption of best practices across sectors and region

Champion and secure TCO reductions for the category across sectors and regions

Drive SRM mindset into procurement organization

Accountable for measuring and tracking internal performance within sector and site

Develop an expertise in the global procurement spend categories and become a critical business partner to internal stakeholders across the various functions

Provide assistance to acquisition strategies by completing due diligence and integration activities for spend

Are you a MATCH?

  • Min 8+ years working experience of successful strategic transport category management within the procurement organization of a MNC
  • Full strategic category responsibility either on a global or at a minimum regional (ie APAC) level
  • A preferred industry background in FMCG, Automotive, Pharma, Chemical, Electronics
  • A Bachelor in engineering or business administration. A Master degree would be a plus.
  • Outstanding analytical skills paired with the ability to synthesize data and build strong business cases
  • Outstanding ability to formalize knowledge and build category strategies based on in-depth analytics as well as business & market insights
  • Extensive demonstrable experience in successfully leading and conducting the negotiation of contracts across technical, commercial and legal areas Proven experience in driving change and delivering sustainable long-term value to the business
  • Proven experience in building and nurturing positive internal relationships with senior management, key users and business Stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in building and nurturing positive external relationships with Vendors & Suppliers Proven track record of consistent performance and delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to champion the vision of the organization.
  • Get prepared for internal resistances as we are in a changing and transforming APAC procurement team
  • Mobility in terms of travel \xe2\x80\x93 coverage of all APAC countries (12 countries).
  • Embracement of changes, open minded with strong leadership, influential communication
