Application Delivery I Engineer

LOCATION: Malaysia

JOB PURPOSE: ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems is a provider of software and services to over 120 airports, enabling them to improve operational performance and deliver total airport management to its customers. Half of the people who fly each year are serviced by airports that rely on our software platforms. The Application Delivery Engineer operates as an entry point within the Application Delivery team, provisioning a wide scope of technical solutions to new and existing customers. Such is the level of task diversity this presents a much sought after position, with the empowerment to help shape your career path further into the business. You will be part of the team that helps build, configure and test complex systems that will be deployed into aiport operational environments, enabling them to operate and to service flights and improve the passenger experience. You will have a questioning mind; one that is fascinated by data analysis and who exhibits effective troubleshooting skills. Over the next year we have work to deliver projects at airports in the Europe, Middle East, North America, Latin America, China and the UK. This role requires someone with the same truly global outlook as we have, offering exciting opportunities for travel to work on-site at these airports around the world (covid pandemic allowing). You will have involvement in projects within the business, ranging from a few days long, to a few months. This role is considered an introduction into the team and offers considerable potential, excitement and growth for the right candidate. It would suit a computer science / engineering graduate from University or Technical College
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver high end professional services to our customers and key stakeholders; including:
  • Fulfilment of project tasks; including the build, configuration, test and deployment of software
  • Technical escalations from our Global service desk

• Assist with the delivery of new system builds into live operation

• Evaluation of system performance reporting during testing, highlighting concerns and overseeing their resolution.

• Assist with planned maintenance and security patching / system update tasks for commercial software falling under the scope of delivery, ensuring that operating environments remain safe and secure

• Help maintain resolution service levels on customer reported issues, positively influencing stakeholders and third parties that make up those end-to-end services

• Ensure that the services offered to ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems\xe2\x80\x99 customers are progressed to their logical and technical conclusion; either by resolution or by escalation; either via a 3rd party, or to internal development resolver group

• To assist with root cause analysis associated with customer reported issues in ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems application software

• Work in accordance with ADB SAFEGATE Airport Systems\xe2\x80\x99 \xe2\x80\x98Change, Configuration and Release Framework\xe2\x80\x99, ensuring that all new software follows the correct processes prior to release

• Understand and utilise software source configuration control as best practice, using every precautionary measure to minimise bugs when issuing releases; compiling and testing thoroughly

• Build knowledge from global trends in hardware and software reported issues, making it easily accessible within the Business through various forums

• Work closely with experienced members of the team to learn new skills with software platforms and technologies

• Influence and advise internal and external stakeholders, representing all Management levels, regarding the availability and functionality of services and systems

• Assist with the continual improvement of Airport Systems processes and their application

SKILLS /EXPERIENCE This role is aimed at an introductory-intermediate level, ideally a recent university / technical college graduate.
Essential

• Some understanding of how databases function
• Some understanding of Structured Query Language principles
• Some understanding and exposure of Container Management; such as Kubenetes or Rancher
• Strong Troubleshooting abilities

Desirable:

• Some understading of UNIX/LINUX operating systems, via command line
• Cloud computing \xe2\x80\x93 experience in Amazon Web Services / Microsoft Azure would be advantagrous
• Some understanding of Node JS
• Understanding of basic networking principles
