Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage the development of software programs and IT systems according to detailed technical specifications using quality processes, tools and methodologies \xe2\x80\xa2 development / modification of low level programmes as per project requirement \xe2\x80\xa2 generate working code from specifications; convert requirements and specifications into workable programs \xe2\x80\xa2 conduct internal walk through of design analysis/design document/design code \xe2\x80\xa2 work with business analysts and ensure compliance with policies/business rules \xe2\x80\xa2 support system testing, and other related processes \xe2\x80\xa2 maintain system documentation/system manuals \xe2\x80\xa2 update and maintain program and other relevant product documentation \xe2\x80\xa2 coordinate software version and system configuration control Key Relationships: \xe2\x80\xa2 Business users \xe2\x80\x93 for validation of the developed system\xe2\x80\x99s fit for purpose \xe2\x80\xa2 System designer \xe2\x80\x93 for clarification of system design specifications \xe2\x80\xa2 Testing team \xe2\x80\xa2 Project Lead Reporting line: \xe2\x80\xa2 The Application Developer reports directly to the Islamic Banking Project Lead. \xe2\x80\xa2 The Application Developer does not have any subordinates. Key Challenges The key challenges that the Application Developer is likely to encounter whilst undertaking this role include: \xe2\x80\xa2 Coping with a dynamic transformation environment, with changing business requirements \xe2\x80\xa2 Development of non-obsolete systems in a rapidly evolving technology environment \xe2\x80\xa2 Development of systems within compressed timeframes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Alignment of developed systems with the Enterprise Architecture Requirements Education: \xe2\x80\xa2 Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree from a reputable institution of higher learning, preferably in Computer Science, or Information Systems (with a minimum grade of Second Class Upper, or a CGPA score of 3.00 and above). Experience: \xe2\x80\xa2 Developer with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in J2EE software building and development and translating these to service specifications and solution definitions. Skills & Competencies: Essential Skills: It is essential to exhibit the following skills/abilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Core Banking Product Knowledge\xe2\x80\x93 possess Core Banking product knowledge and able to interpret Business & Functional Requirement and able to come up with Technical Specification. \xe2\x80\xa2 Programming/software development/scripting \xe2\x80\x93 Strong knowledge in Java programming, oracle sql, jsp, servlet, javascript and XML. \xe2\x80\xa2 Hands on experience on knowledge of unix command and shell scripting. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience in application server weblogic and interface webservice, mq, ESB, SMTP mail. \xe2\x80\xa2 Good debugging skills. Demonstrate good coding discipline. \xe2\x80\xa2 Application of System Development Lifecycle \xe2\x80\x93 should be able to adopt and apply processes that align with all elements of standard SDLC framework. \xe2\x80\xa2 Technical specification analysis and development and support\xe2\x80\x93 interpretation of user rules and requirements for developing systems. \xe2\x80\xa2 Information content authoring. \xe2\x80\xa2 Data conversion and migration. \xe2\x80\xa2 System testing \xe2\x80\x93 understanding of system testing frameworks that will be applied to the developed systems. Desirable Skills: It is desirable (but not essential) to exhibit the following skills/abilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Self Management \xe2\x80\x93 should be able to prioritise and manage own time \xe2\x80\xa2 Effective Communications skills \xe2\x80\x93 should be able to present concepts clearly and concisely both written and verbally \xe2\x80\xa2 Decision making, able to work under pressure, assertive and upholds integrity, highly self-motivated, resourceful, result-oriented, able to multitask, initiative, flexible and adaptable to change. \xe2\x80\xa2 Relationship management \xe2\x80\x93 must be able to manage relationships with other system development stakeholders (e.g. system designers and business users) and provide feedback \xe2\x80\xa2 Decision making, able to work under pressure, assertive and upholds integrity, highly self-motivated, resourceful, result-oriented, able to multitask, initiative, flexible and adaptable to change.
