Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting is currently hiring an Area Sales Manager for the Central and East Coast regions on behalf of our esteemed food manufacturing client.
Job Responsibilities: * Business Planning and Execution:

  • Develop, recommend, and secure Management approval for the annual business plans for the General Trade channel, including detailed sales activity plans for top customers (Local Modern Trade), sub-channels, sub-distributors, and wholesalers.
  • Establish monthly and quarterly targets consistent with annual plans, and continually measure progress towards these targets.
  • Deploy, lead, and manage the execution of the approved annual business plan for the General Trade channel through distributor branch management.
  • Collaboration with Marketing:
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to understand marketing objectives and New Product Development direction, ensuring effective business development and execution of trade plans in the General Trade channel.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Participate in and take responsibility for negotiating trading terms, A&P spending, service, and maintaining strong relationships with regional top customers (local modern trade), key sub-distributors, and key wholesalers, alongside the distributor branch management team.
  • Plan and ensure proper execution of promotional activities.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, develop, train, and manage the distributor General Trade channel team members and merchandisers, ensuring effective and efficient cycle plans, work processes, and execution in trade focusing on sales fundamentals: basic call rate, effective call rate, repeat purchase rate, distribution, pricing, shelving, and merchandising.
  • Evaluation and Improvement:
  • Evaluate the results of sales fundamentals and sales promotion plans, and recommend necessary changes as appropriate.
  • Plan and execute new product launches to ensure timely execution and high standards of display and shelving activation.
Job Requirements:Education & Experience:
  • Degree in Business Studies, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of solid experience in FMCG sales and marketing, preferably with experience in leading MNC or distributor environments handling MNC principles.
  • Experience in General Trade Business and Distributor Management.
Requirements & Skills:
  • Aggressive, results-oriented, and possessing a high personal drive to succeed.
  • Strong people and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively manage distributors and execute sales/marketing plans.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and forecast future developments.
  • Capability to present findings and insights clearly and organized.
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends in complex data sets.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Computer literate.
