Reporting to: Finance Manager

Position Purpose:

The Assistant Accountant is supporting Finance Manager on the day-to-day operations of the Finance department of the Company and Business Partnering.

Job Responsibilities:

ACCOUNTING & REPORTING

  • Oversee daily operations of finance operations, establish a strong control environment, and improve various processes
  • Managing the GL function of finance
  • Supervise AP & AR roles
  • Perform month-end & year-end closing closing activities within deadline
  • Managing and supervise AP & AR roles
  • Compiling, analysing management reporting and submission of reports
  • Involved in annual stocktake at warehouse.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc projects/ad hoc task assigned.
COMPLIANCE
  • Manage and liaison with the external auditor, tax consultants, corporate secretary, banks and other external parties.
Ensure robust process and adequate internal controls are in place
  • Ensure effective internal control procedures and compliance of accounting standards, company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including audit, tax, corporate secretarial preparation/enquiries etc.
CONTROLLING & BUSINESS PLANNING
  • Lead the actualization and analysis of monthly P&L, KPI, present divisional brand P&L and highlights with recommended action plans as required.
  • Systematic variance analysis with quality commentary/business insight to support business objectives
  • Involvement in annual budget and forecast exercise.
  • Serves as the primary finance business partner and controller to support business operations by partnering with business teams to meet corporate objectives and decision support
Requirements

Education/Experience
  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor\'s Degree/Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification from recognized body (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW etc) is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in Finance and Controlling,
Skills Required
  • Knowledge in SAP will be an added advantage.
  • Advanced skills on Microsoft Office suite software (E.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint etc)
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A good team player.
  • Able to work independently and flexible with excellent attitude.
  • Able to provide effective solutions to ad hoc business needs.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight reporting timeline.
  • Demonstrate organised and methodical approach to task
  • Able to analyze and understand financial data
