Assistant Chef
to join our kitchen team. If you enjoy cooking, learning, and working in a friendly, fast-paced environment, we'd love to meet you.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Chef, you'll support the Head Chef in preparing food, cooking during service (especially sauteing and deep-frying), and helping to keep the kitchen running smoothly. This role is great for someone who enjoys hands-on cooking, teamwork, and wants to grow their culinary skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen duties
Cook and prepare dishes during service
Assist with mis-en-place and from-scratch food preparation
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen at all times
Follow kitchen SOPs and food safety guidelines
Help with simple kitchen paperwork and inventory tasks
Communicate clearly with team members to ensure smooth service
Maintain consistency and quality, even during busy periods
Show initiative while being open to guidance from senior chefs
Applicant Requirements
We're looking for someone who:
Has 2-3 years of kitchen experience (hotels or restaurant chains are a bonus)
Understands basic food safety and hygiene practices
Is punctual, disciplined, and has a positive attitude
Can work efficiently under pressure
Has experience with deep-frying, sauteing, or general cooking techniques
Is physically able to stand and move around for long hours
Can work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts when needed
Communicates well and works smoothly with a team
Stays calm, organised, and focused during busy hours
Is passionate about cooking and wants to grow in their culinary career
Can speak English and Bahasa Melayu
Fresh graduates and school leavers
(SPM/O-Level) with strong interest in cooking are encouraged to apply.
Culinary diploma holders
are an added advantage.
