Assistant Chef
to support our Head Chef and kitchen team.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Chef, you will play a key role in supporting daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and cooking during service--particularly in sauteing and deep-frying. This position requires speed, discipline, teamwork, and a strong willingness to learn both hands-on cooking skills and basic kitchen administration. You will be part of a committed team focused on consistency, quality, and fresh, from-scratch cooking.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
Cook menu items during service, including saute and deep-fry stations
Assist with food preparation and production (all dishes prepared from scratch)
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation in the kitchen
Follow kitchen SOPs, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times
Learn and assist with basic kitchen paperwork and inventory management
Take initiative while following instructions from senior kitchen staff
Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and a strong work ethic during all shifts
Communicate clearly with kitchen and service team members
Ensure consistency and quality, especially during busy service periods
Applicant Requirements
2-3 years of kitchen experience (experience in hotels or restaurant chains is an advantage)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and proper food storage
Punctual, disciplined, and positive professional attitude
Ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure
Experience with multiple cooking techniques, especially deep-frying and sauteing
Willingness to work long hours, split shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
Strong team player with good communication skills
Organised, able to multitask, and perform well in a fast-paced environment
Passionate about cooking and eager to grow in a culinary career
Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Melayu

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
License/Certification:
