We are a successful and fast-growing British restaurant brand (Muslim-friendly) with four outlets across the Klang Valley. We are currently seeking an experienced

Assistant Chef

to join our team at our

Damansara Uptown

outlet. From time to time, you may also be required to assist at our outlets in

Subang Jaya (SS15)

and

Desa Sri Hartamas

.

We are looking for a strong team leader who can ensure excellent and consistent kitchen operations. You must be able to motivate staff, uphold discipline, maintain quality standards, and support the continuous development of the team. This role is critical to maintaining our high food quality standards while managing operational efficiency and costs.

Role Summary



As an Assistant Chef, you will work closely with the Outlet Chef to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations and high-quality food production. You will oversee food preparation, maintain strict adherence to SOPs, uphold hygiene standards, and coordinate an organised and efficient kitchen team. This role requires someone proactive, organised, and committed to excellence.

Key Responsibilities



Assist the Outlet Chef with all daily kitchen duties. Manage kitchen operations, including ordering, storage, food preparation, and waste management. Ensure food quality, preparation, and plating strictly follow SOPs. Cook and plate dishes to consistently high standards during service. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times. Train and guide team members on recipes, cooking methods, and SOP adherence. Monitor staff performance, attendance, and overall productivity. Minimise food waste and contribute to effective cost control. Complete daily kitchen checklists, documentation, and SOP tasks. Support additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Applicant Requirements



Experience & Skills



Minimum

3 years

of experience in kitchens specialising in

Western cuisine and seafood

, preferably in hotels or established restaurant chains. Ideally

2 years

of experience leading kitchen teams, including training staff in cooking methods and SOPs. Strong knowledge of Western cuisine and high proficiency in preparing, cooking, and garnishing Western dishes. Understanding of food costing, stock control, and operational efficiency. Experienced in developing and following SOPs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage effectively with management and team members. Passionate about cooking and delivering consistently excellent dishes. Able to meet targets and maintain strict quality control.

Additional Requirements



Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification is an advantage. Good working knowledge of MS Office is a bonus. Able to communicate effectively in

English

Bahasa Melayu
