Manage and oversee import and export logistics operations, including booking, customs clearance, bill of lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
Coordinate daily communication with freight forwarders, customs agents, ports, and transport service providers to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
Track shipment status and proactively handle delays, documentation errors, or customs clearance issues.
Ensure all logistics operations comply with Malaysian and international trade regulations.
2. Team Supervision
Guide, train, and supervise logistics officers and clerks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in operations.
Develop and implement departmental work plans and performance assessment standards.
Assist management in conducting team performance analysis and implementing improvement measures.
Promote compliance with company SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety management requirements.
3. Cost & Process Optimization
Assist in analyzing transportation costs and provide recommendations for cost savings and process optimization.
Monitor vendor performance to ensure service quality and compliance with contractual requirements.
Participate in developing and improving logistics operation systems and reporting mechanisms.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate closely with warehouse, procurement, sales, and finance teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and delivery.
Coordinate with the service department for spare parts and equipment transfers.
Regularly report logistics performance and problem-resolution updates to management.
5. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies and relevant legal requirements.
Maintain and archive import/export documents to ensure traceability for audit purposes.
Assist in preparing logistics performance reports, including cost analysis, transit time tracking, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and import/export operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international transport regulations.
Proven experience in coordination with Malaysian ports, customs, and freight forwarders.
Prior experience in manufacturing or heavy equipment industry is an advantage.
Excellent team leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with logistics or ERP systems is preferred.
Proactive, resilient, and highly responsible with strong execution capability.
