SUMMARY OF THE ROLEManage and maintain all aspects of the Accounting functions and its staff, by co-ordinating, initiating and following up on processes and practices to ensure that accounting books and records are properly maintained, and that adequate, accurate and timely information is provided and requirements and standards are met.
This position will be based in Shah Alam, Selangor and reporting to Accounting Manager.Responsibilities:Guide and support the Accounting team in carrying out their tasks and ensure smooth co-ordination between departments in order to achieve department goalsMonitor accounting transactions and govern strict adherence to procedures and guidelines to ensure that accounting books and records are properly maintained, according to Jotun Group policy and local regulations.Ensure high quality and compliance on financial execution by contacting customers or vendors in case of discrepancies to be solved, to be perceived as a reliable customer and supplier.Perform and conduct the monthly and annual financial closing and reports by conducting and reviewing financial transactions in order to ensure that the financial reports are prepared correctly, timely, and in compliance with Jotun Finance Policies.Manage relevant reporting by planning and processing to ensure that it is performed promptly and accurately.If the jobholder has subordinates: Manage and lead the Accounting team by setting clear targets and framework, coaching, supporting, following up, and monitoring each team member in line with the Penguin Spirit to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the whole team.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFERQualificationsCandidate must possess at least a Bachelor\'s Degree or a Professional Degree with 3 years of relevant experience in Financial Audit background.Experience in leading a small team.Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.Strong communication and influencing skill.Fluent in English and other languages will be an added advantage.Personal QualitiesActs on own initiative, makes things happen and accepts responsibility for the results.Provides team with a clear sense of direction, inspires and coordinates others and keeps them focused on objectives.Uses a methodical and systematic approach; plans ahead, defines clear priorities and allocates resources effectivelyDemonstrates specialist knowledge and expertise in own area; participates in continuous professional developmentCommunicates in a clear, precise and structured way; speaks with authority and conviction; presents effectivelyAdheres to company rules and procedures; executes plans with commitment and determination; achieves high quality results.We OfferWe are a fast-growing paint and coatings company with proven financial success.Career development encompassing on-the-job experiences and Jotun Academy, our in-house development academy.Best-in-class paint products that are unparalleled in quality.We are a values-driven organization where Respect, Loyalty, Care and Boldness are core to the culture and success of our organization.POSITION INFORMATIONCompany: Jotun Paints (Malaysia) Sdn.
