Assistant Manager, Business Intelligence

Role Purpose

  • This position is responsible to develop analysis, reporting capabilities and provide actionable insights that will assist Management in strategic decision-making across the organization.
  • The Assistant Manager, Business Intelligence roles includes to analyse business requirements and carry out process improvement initiatives in order to provide recommendations to optimize operations and/or improve products and services. The role is expected to deliver insights to management through usage of effective visualizations and dashboards.
  • The expectations are for the candidates to have strong analytical skills with good business acumen, and knowledgeable on research and process improvement methodology in order to convert insights into strategic opportunities. Having excellent written and verbal communication skills to synthesize the findings and recommendations is core to the role.
Key Accountability
  • Consulting with Management and relevant stakeholders to define goals in order to deploy suitable analytics and/or process improvement solutions to meet the needs or to answer the business problems.
  • Carry out analysis and/or process improvement initiatives to evaluate for cost, effectiveness and/or risk of identified issues and to provide recommendations to Management.
  • Develop and manage business intelligence solutions for the organisation.
  • Design and implementation of market research, research on airlines related improvement, future trends or benchmark studies to answer business problems from stakeholders or to compare Company's performance against industry peers.
  • Create and assemble report on analytical/process improvement initiatives using meaningful visualizations and/or dashboard with concise summary to ease stakeholders' understanding when viewing the reports.
  • Collaborate with team members and Management to implement improvements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
  • Build competencies as subject matter experts on various applications, tools, methodologies that could assist Management in decision making for example, usage of Power BI, predictive analysis, Six Sigma, Lean tools etc.
Qualification & Experience

Degree in Operations Analysis, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or related field with 3 years working experience in research analysis or other relevant fields.

Areas of Experience
  • Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodology
  • Knowledge in process improvement methodology for example Six Sigma, LSS or other business and project management methods like Lean, Agile and Scrum
  • Practical experience in developing dashboards and visual insights. Hands-on experience in visualization and reporting tools such as SAS, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI and Excel (Power Pivot).
  • Strategic skills in storytelling with data
  • Strong communication, persuasion and presentation skills
