management, business continuity, and continuous improvement.It also includes driving and rolling out site labour management and equipment management tools, conducting operational improvement studies, and training employees on Lean principles. The Continuous Improvement
Assistant Manager will also be responsible for promoting a Lean culture and ensuring that all continuous improvement activities are aligned with the business goals, including (but are not limited to):

  • Manage the implementation/Ensure the sustainability of Operations Standards across Health and safety, 5S and visual Management, Performance Management, Process Management, Business Continuity and Continuous Improvement.
  • Drive and roll out site labour management and equipment management tools.
  • Identify and implement/conduct operational improvement studies on productivity, waste identification, and elimination of waste at the operational level and customer level.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement workshops for assigned areas such as VSM, Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, and 8D Problem-Solving.
  • Design new processes to improve safety, productivity, quality, and profitability.
  • Ensure follow-up of ongoing continuous improvement actions. Maintain a good relationship with the Operations team and support Lean activities/CI Improvement.
  • Always maintain a high level of expertise in all Lean/Continuous Improvement areas. (Walk the Talk)
  • Promote a Lean and continuous improvement culture at operations.
  • Initiate, develop and assess the site\'s LEAN maturity, conduct training such as Lean games, Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Introduction Training (LIT).
  • Review site CI project submissions from the site team and advise Lean strategies to troubleshoot issues related to Lean tools.
  • Ensure timely submission of CI report (Kaizen) and be sensitive to figures.
  • Develop key metrics/initiatives to monitor and capture non-added value tasks, deviation from the standard process, etc.
  • Monitor performance metrics and measurements related to CI/OE Scorecard and KPI.
  • Ensure the deviations (Irregularities, Claims and complaints) are well identified and validated by the operations.
Key requirements:
  • University or Polytechnic graduate in Logistics and Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Management or from a relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in the logistics, 3PL and supply chain industry across various market segments (e.g., electronics, healthcare, consumer & retail, automotive, etc.)
  • At least 2 years experience in CI Framework development and deployment; practical implementation experience in CI methodologies and tools focusing on Lean in a warehouse/shop floor environment and leveraging digitization. Formal certification is advantageous.
  • Manage all aspects of complex Continuous Improvement projects from identification of improvement areas, execution of problem-solving, prioritizing solutions, testing, hand-over, tracking & reporting out benefits.
  • Ability to run operations for a defined duration when necessary.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding status reporting; work extensively with site and Operations Managers to drive continuous improvement outcomes.
  • Possesses a hands-on approach; incumbent is comfortable navigating ambiguities and managing priorities, able to multitask and work under time pressure.
  • Excellent facilitation, moderation, and training skills; possess strong persuasive skills when presenting proposed solution(s) to customers (when necessary).
  • Strong analytical skills with good commercial and technical understanding in the context of a 3PL environment.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) and Project Management (PMP Certified) are added advantages.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude to overcome problems effectively and able to work under their initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A team player who can build strong rapport and credibility within the organization.
  • Fluent command of spoken and written English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI platform.
  • Willing to travel interstate &/or overseas on projects as required for agreed durations.
