Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, Retail Merchandising supports the organisation\'s merchandising strategies and plans across South APAC (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong & Australia - approx. 74 POS). He/she is also responsible for directing category management and product assortments, as well as budget forecasting for the merchandising function. In this role, he/she is the key interface for Range Assortment Planning and Management across own retail stores across SAPAC.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the organization\'s merchandising strategies and plans for South APAC assigned markets.
  • Directs category management and product assortment as well as budget forecasting.
  • Acts as subject matter expert and contact point within the Retail Merchandising team in liaison with the category manager in the product team for any requests and updates to the category range.
  • Participate in the seasonal buy for retail brand houses according to assigned OTB budget, analyzing and reporting on past seasonal performance of assigned category and market including material count efficiency, product sales mix, rate of sales and sizing performance, etc.
  • Work with the Retail Operations team on optimizing the seasonal buy for the retail channel in close collaboration with Merchandising.
  • Optimize stock allocation and product flow amongst the store network to reduce lost sales.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, and monthly margin and sell through analysis by category and determining OTB Budget
  • Manage the product lifecycle across channels in coordination with the Retail and Wholesale Directors
  • Conduct detailed sales, sell-through, inventory and margin analysis to drive merchandising plans and boost sales.
  • Prepare the promotion strategy and promotion calendar with close partnership with Retail and Marketing teams.
  • Ideate and strategize appropriate action plans with cross-functional partners to maximize sales and inventory productivity, including making recommendations on promotions to manage inventory and capitalize on key consumer moments.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate category management and product assortment.
  • Provide half-yearly price benchmark analysis across the sports industry to share commercial insights and upcoming trends.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Demonstrated delivery of sales targets, budget development and tracking, and demand forecasting
  • Strong business and operational background with overall P&L management experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of budgetary & financial concepts
  • Logically thinking, good at analytics and proficient with Excel required
  • Focus on financial success with the ability to formulate strategies based on market needs and Company goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and creative thinking skills
Education And / Or Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a Merchandising, Business Management and/or equivalent related field of education
  • 5+ years of merchandising related experience
