An Assistant Manager, Treasury job has become available at a company in the automotive industry based in Petaling Jaya.

About the Assistant Manager, Treasury Role:
As the Assistant Manager, Treasury, you will mainly be involved in handling the treasury related matters for the company based in Petaling Jaya.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, oversee, and ensure that payments are processed in a timely fashion, in accordance with payment terms and internal controls
  • Perform trade facility drawdown and repayment when required
  • Ensure monthly closing completed within the deadline, work closely with finance operations and financial controlling
  • Ensure banking mandates and signature authorities are updated accordance to board approval and/or LOA, develop SOPs
  • Prepare of treasury report and reconciliation related to treasury functions
  • Establish standard treasury policy, ensure the policy is adhered to through regular review and controls testing
  • Prepare daily/weekly cash flow statement, tracking in coming and outgoing cash for each bank account, identify business needs and develop cash flow forecast report and analysis, liaison with finance operations, finance controlling and/or BUs when necessary
  • Maintain positive cash flow and perform short/long-term cash investment (placement of funds) for cost optimisation
  • Prepare mid/long-term cash flow projection, variance analysis and explanation to head off cash flow position of the group, work closely with financial planning and analysis
  • Ensure sufficient liquidity for all entities across the group
  • Propose best practice, establish, and ensure the implementation of SOPs are complied with
  • Review processes and propose efficiencies in systems or workflow to close control gaps where applicable
  • Be involve din ERP implementation process, perform user test, give comment when necessary
  • Propose other treasury solutions as applicable, including the treasury management system
  • Implement banking and token access, ensure banking mandates and signature authorities are align with LOA/board approval
  • Implement and take ownership of e-payment process for the group
  • Implement cash sweeping and cash investment policy where applicable. Ensure that cash is optimised, and bank accounts rationalised
  • Maintain good banking relationships and treat them as valued business partners
  • Always maintain a prime banker and alternative banks for other small and specialised needs
  • Compile, process and submit of required documents to banks for new/renewal application of bank facilities and/or restructuring of the group
  • Support treasury and corporate finance reporting and any other treasury activities
  • Support BUs/related companies in all matter related to banking activities
To succeed in this Assistant Manager, Treasury role, you must be an independent, meticulous and self-motivated finance professional with high attention to detail and proven leadership capabilities.

Key Requirements:
  • Five years or above relevant experience in a progressively growing capacity
  • Accounting qualification (any type) and degree (any level), preferably in finance
  • Treasury operations (back or front office) knowledge or demonstrated ability to learn
  • Knowledge of bank borrowings facilities features is preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting entry is mandatory
  • Demonstrated professional experience is considered in lieu of the above formal qualifications
  • Strong command of written and verbal English
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skillset
  • Negotiation abilities with external parties. Possesses existing local and regional banking relationships
  • Knowledge of appropriate systems and industry norms for the treasury and corporate finance functions
