To assist in the planning, design, and management of water resources and infrastructure projects, including drainage, flood mitigation, water supply, and stormwater management systems. The role involves leading technical teams, coordinating with clients and authorities, and ensuring compliance with design standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Design
Lead and supervise design works related to water resources projects such as river engineering, flood control, drainage, and water supply systems.
Prepare detailed design drawings, reports, and technical submissions using
AutoCAD Civil 3D
,
WaterCAD
, and other hydraulic modeling software.
Review and verify design calculations for hydraulic and hydrological analysis.
Technical Review & Coordination
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (structural, geotechnical, environmental) to ensure integrated design solutions.
Conduct technical reviews to ensure design compliance with local authority standards and environmental requirements.
Liaise with relevant government agencies (e.g., DID, JKR, SPAN) for project approvals.
Project Management
Assist in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
Prepare tender documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
Oversee consultants and contractors to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
Hydraulic & Hydrological Analysis
Perform simulations and analysis using tools such as
WaterCAD
,
StormCAD
,
HEC-RAS
, or equivalent.
Evaluate water flow, pressure, and pipe network performance; recommend design optimization or mitigation measures.
Interpret topographic, hydrological, and GIS data for design and feasibility studies.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare detailed engineering reports, feasibility studies, and project documentation.
Present technical findings and recommendations to management and clients.
Leadership & Mentoring
Supervise and guide junior engineers and CAD technicians.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence within the team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM).
Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

Professional Engineer (Ir.)
qualification is an advantage.
Minimum
8 years
of relevant experience in water resources or civil infrastructure projects or relevant experience in a consultancy environment.
Proficiency in
Strong understanding of local design codes, standards, and submission procedures.
Strong leadership skill to lead a team of engineers and other staff in undertaking medium sized multi-disciplinary projects.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Mandarin as an added advantage
