The position is for Assistant Vice President of CIMB Group Corporate Events (GCE) which is a department under Group Branding and Communication division. The incumbent will report directly to the Head of Department (HoD) and has overall view of all events and campaigns undertaken by the department especially our flagship events. The role extends beyond traditional events run by any corporates or financial institutions, although the scope also covers Business-As-Usual (BAU) activities such as meetings, conferences and small events management. The incumbent will lead these 2 CIMB flagship campaigns from ideation; communication with stakeholders which include business units, partners and merchants, media plan; timeline management; cost control; continuous relationship buildings with our partners and importantly, performance monitoring.   • Able to foster professional relationship with the team members and motivate them to achieve projects\xe2\x80\x99 goals by being action-oriented leader and always be there for team whenever they need you. Good communication skill is a must for this role.
  • Able to constantly update the team members of event progress and monitor their deliverables.
  • Able to distill the HoD\xe2\x80\x99s visions and communicate this vision to the team for execution.
  • Lead the direction of the flagship campaigns following the vision laid out by the HoD.
  • Able to materialize the vision into events fabrication, communication materials and performance monitoring.
  • Able to delegate the roles based on the team\xe2\x80\x99s strengths such as logistic, visual design, copy-writing, video editing and on-site event execution.
  • Posses the critical thinking to come up with impactful ideas for campaigns/events and solve challenges arose in the process of planning and executing events such as budget cut, tight timeline, change of venue or date.
  • Embody agile and flexible mindset in envisioning campaigns or executing events. Dare to dwell in untested ideas to come up with novel approaches to campaigns, without jeopardizing the Group or team reputation.
  • Add value to the teams\xe2\x80\x99 discussions and offer alternative ideas or challenges any idea tabled if the idea was found to be less optimized or poses a risk to CIMB
  • Due to the nature of event industry, candidate must be willing to work beyond the work hours and on the weekends to ensure all the planning and execution go as planned. Candidate should be open to travel to offside events.
Technical Competencies
  • The key competency is Project Management which covers ideations to bring value to the CIMB Group as whole in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy, bringing the ideas to life in events or campaigns, communication with the stakeholders, cost planning, timeline monitoring, event execution and result monitoring such as PR value, sales, attendance and YouTube views
  • Salesman trait to win partnerships and get Business Unit buy-in by confidently communicating what we can offer them and by being a good listener to their needs and challenges. One way to achieve this is by attending the partners\xe2\x80\x99 or BU events to expose yourself to their businesses.
  • Abreast with the current trend in art, fashion and design outside of events. Our ideas are usually generated from beautiful references we garnered from multitude of sources.
  • Able to communicate ideas well to convey your vision to internal teams such as PR Social Media and Web team, as well winning partnerships by supporting the HoD in discussions and understanding the challenges faced by the prospects.
  • Writing skills is a bonus especially in narrating our stories to the public, customers and clients in the form of media release, video descriptions and award submissions.
Job Requirements
  • Possess a Degree from a reputable University
  • Have at least 5 years experiences in project management preferably from event management or advertising agency.
  • Must have expertise in managing events from planning; budgeting; communication with different stakeholders such as business units, clients, partners, suppliers and venues; event technicality such as sound, lighting and fabrication.
  • Flair in music selection tailoring to specific events such as fashion shows, conferences, festive celebrations and general appreciation events such as award ceremonies. Skill in using sound mixing software such as Ableton Live is a big plus.
  • Experience in directing videos to complement our campaigns. Skill in using editing softwares such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere is a big plus.
