We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives and execute strategic initiatives with a clear focus on digitization and optimization of resources
  • Partnering with management to reduce operational incidents and strengthen control design. Timely escalation, reporting and resolution of issues per Risk framework.
  • Demonstrate progress in driving the People objectives covering succession planning, future skills enablement and alignment to group vision.
  • Efficiency targets covering direct and indirect costs are met
  • Client experience measurements including Post Trade Performance Metric framework
  • Risk incidents and management
  • Demonstrating continuous monitoring and insights. Evidence improvement in trending and outcomes
  • Champion upskilling of workforce to be future fit, evidence progress
  • The job holder is guided by the Head of Shared Services, Global Resourcing, Group Standards Manual and Group Operations FIM and local laws and regulations.

  • This a regional leadership role in the function that will require the ability to prioritise, negotiate and execute activities, responsibilities and leadership independently taking regular but high level direction from the functional Heads- The role should be able to work effectively in partnership with peers.
Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)

Role will be located in Kuala Lumpur. The job holder is guided by the Head of Shared Services, Global Resourcing, Group Standards Manual and Group Operations FIM and local laws and regulations.

Global Service Delivery (GSD) is an end-to-end offshore banking and financial services provider. A vital part of the HSBC Group\'s global strategy, GSD seamlessly integrates and helps the Group remain competitive in the ever changing world of banking and finance. GSD is rooted in the Group\'s strategy of Managing for Growth as it aims to consolidate the Group\'s back office banking operations.

Management of Risk
  • Manage Product control processes in accordance with the group\xe2\x80\x99s FIM reporting requirements
  • Ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are considered
  • Any process re-engineering must comply with the applicable control environment
Observation of Internal Controls

The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term \xe2\x80\x98compliance\xe2\x80\x99 embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:
  • A proven track record of delivery within the Global Foreign Exchange Operations pace. The role requires a proactive and articulate individual, comfortable leading a multi-disciplined team, dealing with a broad number of senior management, and able to distil key messages and tailor output to the audience.
  • Knowledge of Global Foreign Exchange products and associated operational processes.
  • Excellent understanding of an Operations\xe2\x80\x99 environment within Markets & Security Services
  • Excellent track record in developing and executing client centric operations teams.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate teams.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and develop networks and relationships with both external and internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvements to the Risk landscape with a pro-active view
  • Ability to act impartially, where required, to arbitrate in matters under dispute, build consensus, and resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
  • High language proficiency with excellent report writing and presentations skills.
  • Experience within Automation, Robotics & Data Insights will be an added advantage.
Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
