What you\'ll do: Impact on the Business Management and ownership of KRI targets set by each product line Globally, and engagement in regular risk and control meetings to explain numbers plus input into the monthly Global MI packs, and reviewing offshore controls and issues with regional management. Actively manage KRIs to minimise risk. E.g.Nostro/Stock/inter-system breaks, Failed trades, Client Money and Unaffirmed Confirmations. Drive a culture of escalation and compliance. Take ownership through actions and challenge processes to ensure operational risks are minimised. Reduction in Operational losses versus previous year. Ensure regular control reviews are performed and key issues identified and resolved. Address demands arising out of Regulatory change initiatives and its timely delivery per the required standard. Demonstrate a commercial mind-set when making decisions about cost and/or resources Reduce cost of Operations through initiatives such as Process Improvement and Best Practice / Standards reviews. Lead the team to deliver efficiencies which result in tangible benefits and increases effectiveness of the department. Support delivery of HSS BOSSOpsled initiatives. Promote the case for change to colleagues and obtain their buy in and commitment. And ensure structured implementation of initiatives. Ensure input into Target Operating Model approach and decisions with appropriate input as to offshore implications. Ensure Kuala Lumpur successfully take on board new migrations from the hubs with no negative impact on operational risk, client service, efficiency or cost where appropriate. Work with internal teams to improve the overall footprint and ensure we stay aligned to the Business goals Reflect change agenda and delivery in all Operational goals. Create an open, transparent, communicative environment, where success is driven from feedback and Global People Survey. Gather and analyse client metrics to continually improve client service. Build and embed a client focussed culture within the team. Leadership and Teamwork Measured through a combination of facets - including: Feedback from balance sheet heads and front office on the support of their business. External client feedback, compliments and complaints. Ability to support regulatory changes, new business / volume growth / new markets without the need for headcount to grow proportionally. Lead and challenge Management Team to evolve and improve process environment and develop subsequent levels of management in the organisation. Maintain team engagement through development activities training, coaching, succession planning and role modelling. Regular dialogue with management team collectively. Regular 1:1\'s with the team. Create greater formality on communication through management layers. In-depth understanding of how the business is organised/structured and effectively articulate to the department. Engage with wider teams to promote best practice and knowledge sharing. Operational Effectiveness & Control Drive a culture for escalation and compliance. Successmanaged through identification and remediation of daily issues and appropriate escalation to management. Lower Dollar number of actual losses versus previous year, no high risk audit points. Successful involvement in HSS BOSSOperationsrisk initiatives, including Risk Control Assessment. Strong understanding of operational risks inherent to the business supported. Monitor and track issues and remedial actions. Management of Risk Adheres to the HSBC control framework and promotes excellent risk management across the function. Close working partnership with the Business Risk and Control team. Observation of Internal Controls Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy. Role Dimensions The role supports the Cash Equities Business with membership of 50 equity exchanges and multi-lateral trading facilities (MTFs), equipped with Direct market access (DMA) to over 100 exchanges and MTFs Managing post trade activity across 3 balance sheets servicing G75, strategic & non-strategic client groups with operational oversight of teams in multiple Asian and European time zones. Responsibility for Confirmation Matching, Pre-Settlement, Instructing, Settlements, Fails Management, Cross Borders, Payments, Interest Claims, Nostro and Stock Rec Investigation activity. Requirements Whatyou will need to succeed in the role: Strong understanding of ASIA, MENA, European & Crest Market Operations Added advantage would be prior experience of Cash Equities Operations. Experienced operations professional with significant exposure to managing off shore operations ideally with a focus on Broker Securities Operations but not exclusively Exceptional leadership and management skills with the capability or track record of managing staff Ability to work in a virtual team environment with ability to support multiple functions and stakeholders Hands on experience of executing on-shore and off-shore operating models Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management Ability to implement global initiatives and work as part of a global management team Strong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across an organisation Attention to detail and a hands on approach to management to work with local managers driving process change and improve efficiency and control Sound understanding of budgetary process. Familiar working knowledge of associated technology Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.
