Job Description


Position Overview Support Southeast-Asia Finance function head in managing financial reporting and controls, planning and analysis for Southeast Asia business operations; ensuring timely and effective financial reporting process. Work collaboratively with cross functional teams across Finance, Valuation and Administration for improvements to operational processes. Maintain risk management focus, support strategic initiatives, and foster spirit of cooperation with all departments. Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Controls Manage and work on accounting and financial reporting for Southeast Asia. Ensure key accounting controls and financial integrity are in place in all aspects of financial reporting. Drive adherence to RGA accounting policies and practices Support in the preparation of high-quality reports to report on financial performance to key stakeholders, including regional finance team and executive team, Board etc. reflecting the different needs of each stakeholder Support SOX audit, compliance, risk and controls for Southeast Asia Identify potential improvements to financial reporting and management systems to support management decision-making and implementation of business strategy Provide coaching and guidance to more junior Finance team members particularly on financial accounting and reporting matters Work collaboratively with finance, valuation and data administration on financial reporting and operational matters Support in the annual audit process including managing and responding to auditors\' requests and queries Financial Planning and Analysis Support the annual financial planning process and Southeast Asia strategic growth initiatives Support in producing updated financial forecasts throughout the year for reporting to management Analyse expenses for Southeast Asia and understand RGA\'s operating expense structure Financial Planning and Analysis Support the annual financial planning process and Southeast Asia strategic growth initiatives Support in producing updated financial forecasts throughout the year for reporting to management Analyse expenses for Southeast Asia and understand RGA\'s operating expense structure Requirements Education And Experience Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting/Finance Professional qualifications - Chartered Accountant, CFA and other equivalent 8 + years accounting/finance experience in insurance industry Experience in audit and IFRS 17 preferred, though not mandatory Strong potential to mentor and develop a professional team Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with various departments/stakeholders across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines Firm understanding and experience of the insurance industry Skills And Abilities A high level of personal accountability and integrity Exceptional ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies Exceptional oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members A bility to investigate, analyze and solve complex analytic, financial and business problems/issues Advanced ability to adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions Knowledge of broad business and finance-related practices Ability to foster a teamwork and customer service focused environment Familiar with and comfortable working in a matrix organization Company Overview Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA), a Fortune 500 company, is a global industry leader specializing in life and health reinsurance and financial solutions that help clients effectively manage risk and optimize capital.
