POSITION : Associate Engineer, Reservoir Engineering

REPORTING TO : Head of Sarawak Petroleum Department

DEPARTMENT : Malaysia Petroleum Development Department

SECTION : Sarawak Petroleum Department

LOCATION : Office Based

1. KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Compile and quality control engineering and scientific data for use by reservoir/petroleum engineers to be used in evaluation analysis of reservoir system descriptions for clastic depositional facies in company's subsurface assets and projects.
  • Present engineering and statistical results from detailed technical evaluations of reserves and fluid distributions in individual reservoir system utilizing standard reservoir engineering, petrophysical and geological analysis software.
  • Coordinate the issuing and receiving of data to external service companies and contractors reports.
  • Compile data and generate input files of data for reservoir, wellbore, formation evaluation and dynamic rock models.
  • Develop well production and deliverability profiles for different field production scenarios using advanced mathematical analytical and numerical simulation techniques.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Participate and provide assistance in any field wide programmes (well surveillance, well interventions, drilling) as per business plan
  • Manage and maintain technical database related to SK fields ensuring that all data is updated and quality-controlled to company and external audit standards.
  • Provide regular inputs and support for weekly, monthly and annual progress, project and activity reports, both for internal and external submissions
  • Deliver technical support to solve technical problems relating to reservoir engineering and petroleum engineering tasks using engineering and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Liaise with other technical and commercial disciplines (drilling, geology, production, petroleum, commercial) to ensure constructive and full integration of pertinent data into all reservoir and petroleum engineering evaluations.
3. KEY AUTHORITIES
  • As provided/assigned by the Head of Sarawak Petroleum Department.
4. WORKING RELATIONSHIP
  • Provide consistent high-quality data preparation and analysis support to all subsurface engineering disciplines within the development group.
5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering, Earth Sciences, or Mathematics, Statistics or applied science degree.
  • Established proficiency in computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
  • Possess the ability to be self-directed while working in a team environment (Self motivator and able to work independently with minimal supervision, Excellent teamwork skills)
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to optimize repetitive work process with Excel VBA, python or Mathlab would be advantageous
