Role description

Product/Platform Engineer

(Software)

We are looking for engineers who will be responsible to support reported platform software related technical issues (System IO / Firmware / BIOS / ME / Graphics) for post-launch Intel products.



In this role, you will be acting as a platform technical expert to support customers, resolving customer questions, triage and debug customers issues and will be working closing with the other product support engineers.





Requirements


Software experience in various areas (firmware, driver, middleware and application level) with debugging skills on embedded Linux or other real time operating systems (Microsoft Operating Systems - Windows 7/8.x/10, Windows Embedded, etc.). Knowledge of standard embedded systems buses/wired connectivity and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIE,GPIO). Experience with IA (Intel Architecture) embedded or IOT platforms and experience with the integration and testing of IA embedded or IOT products in a Windows/Linux operating system environment. Has computer architecture knowledge. Understanding of x86 architecture, x86 Boot Process, BIOS and firmware integration and debug, GPU architecture. Familiar with BIOS flashing tools such as MMTools, FPT, DediProg, and graphics concepts such as scaling, under scanning, modes (progressive and interlaced). Candidates with prior experience in design/architecture of software for security/networking products would be an added advantage. Ability to analyze schematic of various SoC design would be an added advantage. Software development knowledge - Real-time OS, BIOS, Device Drivers, programming microcontrollers is an added advantage




Qualifications


Bachelor in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering or equivalent with 6 - 12 years of relevant experience Analytical and strong problem solving skills, and ability to drive issues to closure are essential Strong verbal and written communication skills and fluency across English and Mandarin (required to support Taiwan & PRC customers)
