Job Description

As the Associate Manager, Entomology, you will provide subject matter expertise and research excellence in methods used to control pests of medical and urban importance to global household pest control markets. You will assist in identifying emerging pests, technologies, and business opportunities with a global lens, and engage in technical research as well as use their scientific expertise to influence non-technical outcomes. You will provide for lab and field research, interact with internal & external groups, and work with international teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of entomology lab
• Provide subject matter expertise in the development and execution of internal and external research programs for new product, technology, and novel method evaluation
• Provide subject matter expertise on vector borne disease
• Represent the SC Johnson entomology research function to internal and external stakeholders such as: key customers, at scientific conferences, to research partners, and in public facing media
• Provide expertise in the review of consumer facing marketing communication content & product claims
• Contribute to a global network for external research and technology discovery of emerging control technologies for household pests
• Remain current in related entomology/technical fields, report to management about new developments and opportunities
• Develop efficacy testing methodologies, write associated protocols, issue work request reports and other technical reports
• Plan and ensure successful execution of laboratory and field tests, develop and present internal scientific education, and support entomology related regulatory requirements
• Staff development and mentoring in entomology and pest control technologies

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

• Bachelor\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s in Entomology, Urban Entomology, Medical Entomology, or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of experience in this field, which include experience in entomology lab and in development or evaluation of pesticide products
• Knowledge of World Health Organization (WHO) and other regulatory body testing guidelines
• Knowledge and understanding of household pests\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99 biology and experience within the same industry will be an added advantage
