Job Objective: In this role, you will support import/export compliance data management in Greater China regions - China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, including classification, auditing, database management, process development / maintenance, training, reporting, and metrics.

Job Responsibilities :

• This role involves several key responsibilities related to product classification, customs compliance, and regulatory intelligence:
• The primary task is to classify products based on the WCO Harmonized System, focusing on equipment and chemicals.
• Regular updates of international and national classification codes are crucial to ensure compliance with changing customs tariff nomenclatures.
• Keeping a vigilant eye on customs tariff developments is essential, and adapting to these changes within the region is part of the role.
• Timely responses to inquiries regarding HS classification are required to facilitate smooth goods clearance processes.
• Supporting the Trade Compliance COE in defining and documenting HS determination criteria is vital for consistent compliance.
• Offering advice to the Divisions on custom tariff matters within the region helps ensure proper adherence to regulations.
• Effective management and coordination of activities related to HS codes with external partners are necessary for a seamless operation.
• Participation in trade compliance, market, and divisional projects demonstrates a proactive approach to regulatory compliance.
• The role includes completing classifications for drug precursors and compliance with the Chemical Weapon Convention for equipment and chemicals.
• Collaboration with operational groups to collect compliance data, maintaining record-keeping per policy, conducting internal compliance audits, providing metrics on these audits, conducting regulatory intelligence gathering in China, developing and maintaining SOPs, and supporting SAP implementation are all crucial components of this multifaceted role in ensuring adherence to trade compliance and regulatory requirement.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin
• Mandarin speaker ( written & verbal) is a must. This role is to support Greater China regions - China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidates with Trade Compliance or Regulatory Affairs and HS code classification experience will be added advantage
• Familiar with using SAP system.
