We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Vice President.

Fixed Income Securities Operations forms a part of the wider Securities Operations and, segregated by asset class, is responsible for ensuring all Fixed Income trades booked by the front office flow through the various stages of the trade life cycle and settle successfully on value date. All Trade Date Processing and Clearing & Settlements for this function reside within the KL and Manila GSCs with Hong Kong supporting those functions as defined in the TOM as needing to remain onshore

Specifically, HBEU Clearing & Settlements are responsible for ensuring that cancellations, amendments, settlement and investigations are completed correctly and within the agreed SLA\xe2\x80\x99s to ensure timely settlement and mitigate associated operational risks.

Responsibilities:

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Ensure all trade cancellations, amendments investigations and settlements of exceptions are completed on a timely basis.
  • Ensure TDP and C&S teams work collaboratively to to resolve any trade booking or matching discrepancies
  • Ensure that escalation of issues are in place as per escalation matrix
  • Ensure PLA is adhered at all times
  • FOBO Breaks / Cash Reconciliation Breaks / Investigations cases are escalated based on procedure
  • Ensuring that risk is minimized and profit is maximized through effective management of costs/resources.
  • Ensure that process and procedures are continually reviewed and improved and the changes are communicated and implemented effectively.
Customers / Stakeholders
  • Problem situations are proactively identified, resolved and escalated to give maximum customer satisfaction. Appropriate measures are taken to improve quality and prevent recurrence.
  • Customer issues are handled sensitively and receive full consideration. Situations are resolved effectively retaining goodwill of customer.
  • Customers are kept fully informed of progress.
  • Periodical MI submitted accurately and in line with customer and business needs.
  • Updates and procedural changes obtained and cascaded / recorded.
  • Enhance systems and business knowledge relating to customers / processes and cascade to teams.
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Motivate and develop team/subordinate to meet business objectives.
  • Create robust team environment where skills and knowledge openly shared to achieve team and business goals.
  • Knowledge and experience are shared with teams, providing assistance on referred / technical issues.
  • Advice and guidance is given in a constructive manner and positively.
  • Be aware of issues within teams and resolve or escalate in appropriate and timely manner.
  • Share knowledge, best practice and experience with colleagues at all levels to ensure they achieve their goals and business objectives.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Management information, KRI and KPI reporting, other required data and communication are completed accurately and supporting statistics / reports / returns are presented within agreed timescales.
  • Continue evaluate key control framework for the process and the team.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of end of day checks and exception reporting in various internal systems.
  • Maintain equipment, systems and general work environment in good condition.
  • Ensure adherence to the Company\xe2\x80\x99s requirements including but not limited to Data Protection Act, Premises Security, Compliance issues / requirements.
Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)
  • Role includes monitoring of all Clearing and Settlement KRI i.e failed trades, unmatched trades, mismatches, alleged trades, central bank trades.
  • Role will be located in KL and will cover primarily HBAP Clearing & Settlement activity
  • The job holder will have people responsibility.
  • The job holder will be responsible of managing the day-to-day operations during the assigned work hours.
  • The job holder is required to ensure that the functions are completed on a daily basis where required.
  • Job holder will be required to work closely with the existing AMO in the team to ensure BAU functions are carried out accordingly within the stipulated Performance Level Agreement (PLA).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Experience in Fixed Income Securities Operations would be highly advantageous, or other line Operations teams
  • A degree in accounting/finance/management/business administration. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations commensurate with the position.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in an Operation environment is mandatory
  • Ability to speak and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to write business letters and reports
  • Good conversational/telephone skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge appropriately
  • Possess knowledge on MS Office with good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts.
  • Leadership skills, with ability to build rapport with and relate to and effectively develop a wide range of people.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working with voluminous data
  • Ability to multi task
