Perform accurate and timely diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of EV vehicles.
Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot EV-specific systems, including battery management, electric motor, inverter, high-voltage systems, and charging units.
Conduct preventive maintenance and periodic service checks in line with service intervals and protocols.
Ensure all work is performed according to manufacturer guidelines, safety standards, and workshop SOPs.
Assist PDI team to perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new vehicles before handover to customers.
EV-Specific Responsibilities
Handle high-voltage battery systems safely, following EV safety protocols.
Participate in ongoing training and certification programs for EV maintenance and diagnostics.
Support software updates, remote diagnostics, and telematics system installations when required.
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately fill out job cards, repair orders, and service reports.
Record all parts used and time taken per job for accurate billing and warranty purposes.
Provide feedback to the Job Controller or Service Advisor on job status or additional repair needs.
Additional Roles & Support Functions
Parts Inventory & Store Support
Monitor and manage the inventory of tools and spare parts in the technician's assigned area.
Report low-stock items, damaged parts, or incorrect deliveries to the parts department.
Assist in organizing, labelling, and securing EV-specific components (e.g., battery packs, ECUs, high-voltage cables).
Ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous EV parts, including battery materials, in accordance with safety regulations.
Job Controller Assistance
Support the Workshop Supervisor or Job Controller in assigning jobs based on technician skillsets and availability.
Help track the progress of repairs and ensure work is completed within the estimated time.
Communicate any delays, parts issues, or technical challenges to the Job Controller for action.
Assist in updating daily service schedules, technician job allocations, and workflow prioritization.
Other Tasks & Responsibilities (As Assigned by Superior):
Assist in training new technicians or apprentices, especially on EV systems.
Participate in internal quality control checks and audits of completed repair work.
Support showroom or marketing events as a technical representative (e.g., EV education for customers).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and shared tools.
Assist in preparing reports for service performance, warranty claims, or repair accuracy as required by management.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor, Service Manager, or After-Sales leadership.
