Your Role

As a Backend Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side components of our Smart Workplace platform. You will work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and system architects to build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that support AIoT solutions

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and system components to support web, mobile, and IoT applications. Collaborate with front-end developers to define and implement RESTful or event-driven APIs that ensure seamless system integration. Design and manage databases (relational and/or NoSQL), including schema design, performance optimization, and data integrity. Implement business logic, authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms. Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance through proper architecture, caching strategies, and monitoring. Integrate backend services with third-party systems, IoT devices, messaging queues, and cloud services where applicable. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards. Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of production issues. o Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring. Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and security best practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development. Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go. Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL), with a solid understanding of HTTP, JSON, and API security. Strong experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar. Familiarity with system architecture concepts including microservices, message queues, and distributed systems. Experience with Linux-based environments and basic server administration concepts. Knowledge of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure data handling. Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Exposure to front-end technologies and experience leading or mentoring an R&D or technical team will be considered an added advantage
