Designation : Backup storage Administrator Experience : 4- 6 yrs Note : Thsi will be 1 year contract role Job Responsibilities

• Installs all Dell EMC software products in an Open Systems environment. Performs highly complex software implementations such as data migration and file server consolidation. Understands best practices for implementing Dell EMC\xe2\x80\x99s technology within customer\xe2\x80\x99s business and IT strategy requirements. Able to work closely with internal departments as well as service partners to ensure a quality, successful implementation.
• Supports Pre-Sales Consultants, Project Managers and Solutions Architects in developing Scopes of Work and Project Plans. Works closely with project team members and other departments to ensure successful project implementation. May also occasionally support Sales in pre-sales activities such as Proof-Of-Concepts, demo and customer calls.
• Seeks advice or assistance from TSG management and/or CS Technical Support as required during difficult customer situations. Works in conjunction with Dell EMC CS colleagues to ensure effective resolution of technical issues encountered during implementations.
• Prepares, maintains and submits activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports in accordance with published procedures. Keeps Project Managers/Practice Managers informed of activities, alerting of any issues promptly. Provides updates to Dell EMC case tracking system and or other technical applications for Software implementation and Problem Reporting/Resolution. Completes end-of-project reports.
• Proactively alerts customer and manager of potential problems based upon strong working knowledge of software and hardware compatibility within the customer\'s environment. Actively works to educate others in the region on potential problems and resolutions. Stays current on technical specifications and hardware requirements of Dell EMC software products, including new and soon to be released products. Adheres to proper TSG and Customer Service alert and escalation procedures. Keeps appropriate management personnel informed in accordance to Dell EMC policies.
• Trains customer personnel when authorized by TSG Management.
• Required to support and instruct less experienced co-workers, through classroom training sessions or on-the-job mentoring. Acts as mentor and assists or presents training development environments to peers, customers and other organizations.
• Performs other duties as required.

Experience and Education

• Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments. Preferably in a System Administration or Systems Integration background.
• 4 to 5 years experience
• Exposure to Microsoft Exchange/SQL Servers/Oracle Database/NAS will be advantageous
• Analytical ability.
• Cross-Functional skill.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willing to work outside normal office hours.

Skills

• Understanding of infrastructure and enterprise technologies and their applications.
• Understanding of IT architecture implementation & IT technologies installations/Customizations/integrations/tuning
• Understanding of backup and storage knowledge (BLOCK/SAN anf FILE/NAS)
• Host Logical Volume Manager Data Migration or Storage Level Data Migration
• Keeps up to date with current and future technology and technology/business process trends.

Qualifications

• Professional and technical qualifications appropriate to specialism required, namely:
• Networking / CCNA
• Familiar with major Operating System Basic Administration and LUNs provisioning for Servers, such as Windows, Linux, AIX, HPUX, Solaris, Virtualization (VMWare, MS HyperV)
• Familiar with SAN Switches administration and operation such as Brocade and Cisco MDS
• Familiar with Data Migration skills using Host Logical Volume Manager, Storage Level Data Migration
• Experience with 3rd party vendor products such as Oracle, MS SQL(would be added advantage)
• Dell EMC Storage Backup Products skill and knowledge
