Job Purpose

To ensure a warm, efficient welcome for guests arriving and departing the hotel, assisting them with luggage, transportation, orientation, and first-and last impressions in line with Sofitel's luxury service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Greet arriving and departing guests at entrances and driveways with courtesy, opening doors and assisting with luggage. Escort guests from check-in to their room, explaining room features, hotel amenities, and services. Promptly deliver luggage, messages, parcels, and other guest items as needed. Maintain the luggage storage area, ensuring items are tagged, stored, and retrieved correctly. Provide assistance with transportation arrangements (taxis, hotel shuttles, valet services if applicable). Maintain a strong presence in the lobby/entrance area, acting as an ambassador of the brand. Keep entrances, driveways, and the lobby clean, tidy, and safe. Work with other departments (front desk, concierge, bell captain, housekeeping) to ensure guest requests are met. Be knowledgeable of local points of interest, restaurants, attractions, hotel layout and services to answer guest questions accurately. Follow hotel security, safety, and emergency procedures. Uphold Sofitel grooming, appearance, and uniform standards at all times.
Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience in a similar role (luxury hotel / high end property preferred). Excellent customer service skills; friendly, warm, and professional manner. Good communication skills in English. Additional languages (Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, etc.) are a plus. Physical fitness -- ability to stand for long periods and transport luggage and guest belongings safely. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and able to anticipate guest needs. Flexible with working hours -- must be able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
