Financial Responsibilities

1. Avoids misplacement and loss of guest luggage, parcels and mails.

2. Handles hotel assets with professionalism and care so as to avoid damage and unnecessary replacement of such.

3. Parks guest\xe2\x80\x99s car with utmost care so as to avoid damage to a guest\xe2\x80\x99s property.

Sales and Marketing Responsibilities * To keep up-to-date knowledge on all Melia Hotels International (MHI) corporate programs promotions and sales and marketing activities throughout all hotel departments and actively sell and promote as appropriate. To keep up-to-date service and product knowledge on MHI group brand.

2. Maintains good public relations when in contact with guests and tour-guides.

3. Well aware of rooms benefit and facilities in order to promote to guests.

4. Extends the utmost courtesy and cooperation to hotel clients in order to present a professional image.

Operational Duties

1. Remains available to guests and to the section to which he belongs in order to perform special services outside of the hotel.

2. Is responsible for guest luggage during transportation within the hotel.

Picks-up check luggage.

4. Ensures that check-out slip is presented when guest picks-up luggage.

5. Checks all arrivals and departures as well as the movement of checked luggage.

6. Prepares check-in and check-out luggage slips and records them in the corresponding book.

7. Carefully puts luggage in the trunks of cars and taxies.

8. Counts bags when flight crews and groups check-in and check-out.

9. Provides guests with all necessary explanations while accompanying them to their rooms (TV, minibars, lighting, radio, wake-up services, etc.)

10. Wishes the guests a pleasant stay when leaving their room.

11. As often as possible, he will call guests by their name, wishes them good morning, good bye and he will always say, thank you sir, thank you madam.

12. If the guest is not in his room when bags are picked up, the bell boy will check to make sure that the guest has not forgotten anything.

13. Takes care of vehicles entrusted by the guest, in careful driving, parking securing the properties in the vehicle.

14. Watch over the security of the car park if feasible and report any suspicious activities to the Bell Captain.

15. Uses established administration and control systems for the processing of car parking.

16. Observes safety rules of the hotel.

17. Ensures that vehicles unclaimed are reported to the Bell Captain.

18. Will not drive any guest vehicle outside of the hotel carpark and vicinities.

19. Adheres to issued procedures regarding car parking.

20. Opens the door for VIP guests and ensures that the red carpet is laid prior to a VIP\xe2\x80\x99s arrival.

21. Performs other duties as may from time to time assigned by the Bell Captain or other superiors.

Human Resources Responsibilities

1. Is always well-groomed and in full uniform when on duty.

2. Shows concern for the well-being of colleagues by promoting team spirit.

3. Consults daily the employee notice board to keep informed with hotel activities.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Spm/Certificate/Diploma in Hospitality or related

LANGUAGES:

Fluent English, a second language will be an advantage (better if it\xe2\x80\x99s the same where the hotel is based).

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:

Basic knowledge of concierge & customer service

WORK EXPERIENCE IN OTHER COMPANIES (IN CASE OF EXTERNAL SELECTION):

1-2 years in a similar position in hotels or international companies.

WORK EXPERIENCE IN MHI (IN CASE OF INTERNAL PROMOTION):

1 years in the company in similar position in large hotels.
