Job Description

Work as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team to design, build and test, electrical assemblies to support the development of our Tribology and Metrology tools . Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Work with engineering and manufacturing to create Special customized instruments for customers. Produces documentation for assembly and installation of electrical subassemblies including wiring harnesses . Assist in the fabrication of prototypes and customized instruments. Prepares Engineering Change Orders for existing products. Works with Manufacturing to transfer new products from Engineering to Manufacturing and to troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies for AC(120-480VAC);DC(12-800VDC) power, control and instrumentation including servo motor tuning and control.
• Provide Analog/Digital circuit design for signal conditioning (low noise amplification) and data acquisition.
• Plan and design layout for electrical components on electrical panels in new instruments.
• Assemble, test, and debug prototypes and specials.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing to produce special customizations of existing instruments.
• Assist the manufacturing team in transferring New Products from engineering to Manufacturing.
• Assist support, service, and manufacturing team members in learning new features/products as well as help identify, troubleshoot, and correct any defects.
• Prepare Engineering change orders

• Electrical circuit design for motor driven assemblies. Able to create schematics and build assemblies to test. Capable of selecting components for Production.
• Experienced in electrical design for automated machines.
• Knowledge in NFPA79;SEMI S2;8;22; and high power electrical design will be an added advantage.
• Electrical circuit design using design software such as Altium will be an added advantage.
• Basic circuit board design of analog and digital circuits will be an added advantage

• Experience designing for scientific instruments.
• Technical writing skills.

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience and a BS in Electrical Engineering; or advanced degree with no experience.
