Job Description

Job Purpose:

Night Drilling Supervisor (NDSV) should be capable of interacting with drilling/completion engineer to verify program, provide operational guidance and direct service company personnel to achieve well objectives safely within schedule and budget.
NDSV shall oversee and manage overall offshore drilling and completion operations in safe and effective manner.
NDSV shall consult Drilling Superintendent and Engineers wherever necessary but shall be responsible for coordinating, planning, prioritizing and execution of critical activities and offshore logistics.
NDSV shall be responsible for planning, reporting, cost tracking, scheduling, contract supervision while evaluating competence of contractor personnel, services and equipment.
NDSV should be aware of regulations and practices to ensure safe and effective conduct of drilling operations on 24/7 basis and assume the on-site coordinator role during any emergency.
NDSV shall keep management aware of any problems.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities

Review well prognosis and drilling/completion plan and prepare the execution schedule and plan.
Develop drilling and completion operation program and optimize the execution while optimizing well performance.
Prepare one week look ahead and mobilize the personnel and equipment in time for orderly implementation of the program.
Prepare drilling and completion operation programs, specify parameters for critical stages, directly supervise complex or high risk task and where appropriate request authorization for management of change
Ensure appropriate well control measures are taken during all phases of drilling and completion operations and that well control equipment is maintained in good working order and tested as per local or IADC guidelines.
During inspection walk through check and confirm the readiness of equipment and personnel for any emergency
Ensure all personnel involved in the project have the correct job qualifications, training and experience necessary to perform the job correctly and in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure drilling reports and control systems are in place to monitor and report on performance on a day to day basis.
Monitor drilling operations to ensure the performance within budget and improve the well engineering on future wells.
Review closely all performance parameters such as ROP, NPT, WOC time, QA & QC. Monitor and control service contractor achievements / failure by making them an integral part of the project.
Supervise drilling and completion engineers and approve programs prepared by them and develop well engineering solutions using ‘limit’ methodologies
Prepare rig, logistic support and drilling/completion cost estimates for Well AFE, track cost during operation, monitor operational efficiency trends on a day to day basis
