The Asia Pacific region for CooperVision has been growing rapidly and a strong contributor to the ongoing success of the global business. South-East Asia is part of Asia Pacific and comprises full country businesses in Singapore and Malaysia as well as the Asia Emerging Markets (AEM), a sub-cluster of countries which currently include distributor businesses in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. There are significant opportunities to grow these and other markets for CooperVision.

The Business Development Manager, SEA Emerging Markets is responsible for achieving aggressive sales targets as well as developing the key customers and distributors in the AEM countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam. The role will support the Head of Sales, SEA Emerging Markets in developing strategies and executing plans for CooperVision\xe2\x80\x99s key accounts, customers and distributors to build partnerships that secure mutual long-term growth and deliver joint value for the customers and CooperVision. Lead in the co planning and execution of all B2B activities or through distributors, for assigned markets\xe2\x80\x99 optical stores, wholesale accounts and online in conjunction with the global and regional strategy, brand values, business needs and guidelines. This role will work towards CooperVision as \xe2\x80\x9csupplier of choice\xe2\x80\x9d in the optical market with our customers.

Essential Functions

1. Work closely to support the Head of Sales, SEA Emerging Markets on developing, refining and executing the go-to-market for each of the AEM countries. Involved in the annual Budget and Long-Range Strategy Plan process for Asia Emerging Markets.

2. Work to deliver the revenue target for all the AEM customers and distributors through country partner model. Preparing plans and budgets for the designated partners and exceed annual sales and gross profit targets for those partners. Make recommendations and implement action plans to ensure sales stay on plan. Execute consistently on plan targets.

3. Supports & execute strategic, multi-channel integrated marketing plans, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, and staging and pacing of marketing tactical programs. This may include helping to establish new relationships and partnerships with major customers or distributors and wholesalers. Help to continually seek new opportunities for new customers or channels in the AEM markets.

4. Identify customers\xe2\x80\x99 business needs by demonstrating deep knowledge of customers\xe2\x80\x99 business and engagement with their key functional departments.

5. Plan and execute possible RFQ (Request for Quotation) to establish 3rd party logistics providers in the AEM markets.

6. Perform sales and business reviews and monitor the performance across the AEM customers \xe2\x80\x93 detailed customer and/or distributor business plans and tracking.

7. Responsible for new product introduction/launch execution (NPI), initiating & monitoring New Product Launch Change Order (NPLCO) and deployment plan, including, local web content and local activities to support launch

8. Monitor market trends and intelligence including competition, macroeconomics, and the regulatory environment, and use it to influence/drive incremental revenue targets.

9. Support the revenue forecasting and from time-to-time work closely with CooperVision manufacturing and supply chain to ensure products for the AEM are supplied on-time and complete.

10. Work with internal functions such as Marketing, RAQA (Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance), Distribution & Logistics and Finance on new product launches for the AEM markets. Build product launch case studies.

11. Build successful case study for exceptional pricing request for customers.

12. Analyze and develop market intelligence for the AEM. Identify and pinpoint key trends which can help identify further sales opportunities.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Pro-active and self-driven individual with strong business acumen. Able to work independently in a lean team.

\xc2\xb7 Performance and results focused. Proven track record of delivering on targets and objectives.

\xc2\xb7 Customer account selling skills such as: partnership building, negotiation, influencing, product planning, category management, and customer marketing.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with negotiating and documenting customer agreements and setting annual targets and tracking.

\xc2\xb7 Experienced in a highly collaborative organization with a "roll-up your sleeves", "keep it simple, make it happen" culture. Also, able to work in a matrix management style organization with multiple business divisions

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of marketing concepts, theories, principles and the ability to apply them to the eye care industry

\xc2\xb7 Computer literacy required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office

\xc2\xb7 Possess good communication skills - clear and concise communication both verbal and written.

\xc2\xb7 Good reporting skills and effective research and resourcing methods

\xc2\xb7 Analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail.

Work Environment:

\xc2\xb7 This role is based in Malaysia in a normal office environment.

\xc2\xb7 Travel to AEM countries on a periodic basis will form a necessary part of this role.

\xc2\xb7 CooperVision has WFH (work-from-home) flexibility.

Experience:

\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 5 years related field sales or key account sales experience in an FMCG (consumer products) or healthcare environment (Medical device, OTC pharma). Working in a B2B2C business environment will be highly regarded.

\xc2\xb7 Experience working in a public listed U.S / European MNC environment in a highly regulated industry.

\xc2\xb7 It would be highly advantageous to have sales experience working with one or several of the Asia Emerging Market countries (Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam).

Education:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or equivalent.
