About the Role

The Business System Analyst position is a new role and will be the key to the success of the Data Warehouse project. It is expected that the successful candidate will bring significant experience to this role in the areas of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.

  • Work with the data modeler to lead and facilitate ongoing data mapping requirements prioritization.
  • Work with Business Users to ensure completeness of User Requirements.
  • Work with the Project Manager/Sponsor/Business Users to ensure completeness of the project\xe2\x80\x99s business requirements.
  • Lead requirements validation activities to confirm that a solution based on the requirements would meet customer needs and achieve the business objectives.
  • Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to the current set standards by the company.
  • Represent requirements using alternative views, such as visual analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or simulations, where appropriate.
  • Work with the relevant Teams to ensure that the end to end high-level solutions adhere to the company\'s overall direction and architecture. Obtain the signoff from the state holders on the high-level solutions.
  • Manage the creation and use of requirements trace information.
  • Prepare Data Mapping Specification base on the Business/User Requirements. Data Mapping Specification must be clear, with diagrams, data flow, joining conditions, table keys.
  • Walkthrough the Data Mapping Specification to ensure users are clear on deliverables and Application Team are aware of the scope of deliveries for the preparation of Technical Specification.
  • Track requirements status throughout the project and manage changes to base line requirements through effective and appropriate application of change control processes and tools.
  • Review Test Plans and Test script of users to ensure comprehensiveness.
  • Document and log all requests using the existing tools and ensure all documents/evidence are kept/filed accordingly.
  • Prepare the SDLC checklist and ensure that all documents are attached with approval and with the designated signatures of Head of Department, Application leads, User leads and Business Partners.
  • Actively monitors and follow-up to ensure Project/Initiative is completed on schedule.
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in-order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
Job Requirements:

Education
  • Degree in IT related discipline.
  • Undergone training related to Business Analysis and Data Modelling.
Work Experience
  • At least 5 years in Data Warehouse and Modeling and Insurance Business Analysis experience.
Business Knowledge
  • Insurance domain knowledge.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
  • Data Mapping and Data Modeling Technique.
  • Efficient database design and experience with Oracle Database.
  • Knowledge in PL/SQL.
  • Confident operating within an agile development process.
  • Possesses good understanding in the areas of data quality and master data management.
Soft Skills
  • Able to work independently and highly self-motivated.
  • Applicants must have strong communication skills (good command of written and spoken English) with the ability to articulate message.

  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good listening, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve issues.
