The Role: Buyer, Strategic

The Strategic Buyer, is a key position within Entegris\' Indirect Procurement organization to identify, deliver, and support sourcing initiatives to meet cost savings, cost avoidance, and revenue generating goals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to foster collaboration to support business\'s needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage Indirect PO approval with PO value from US$75,000 and above.
  • Manage Indirect Procurement sourcing with project value within US$75,000 to US$150,000. (Project value subject to adjust based upon the overall project volume )
  • Manage New Vendor Approval.
  • Executing a sourcing initiative or bidding activity to conduct market due diligence for Capex Project and Aggregate Operating Expenses Project using RFQ / RFP Template
  • Direct negotiation with a prospective supplier for best pricing and terms.
  • Obtain competitive bids from two or more suppliers based on predetermined specifications for spot buy.
  • Support Indirect Category Managers and Sourcing Managers to identify opportunities to aggregate similar business requirement at a global/region level to rationalize suppliers.
  • Assist Indirect Category Managers and Sourcing Managers on the strategic sourcing for project spend value exceeds US$75,000 but less than US$150,000 (both Capex and Critical Opex Projects) in Asian facilities.
  • Conduct Bid Evaluation of Supplier Proposals (Specs/Price/Schedule/Financials/References/etc)
  • Work with the Contract Managers for the contract review request
  • Develop strong relationship internally within Procurement, specifically with the Category Managers, Sourcing Managers, and Contract Managers, and externally with the plant leads and stakeholders.
  • Educate and assist the stakeholders on the sourcing process, best practices and the capital approval process as needed.
  • Work with Procurement Support/Process Managers for the development and trainings of standards, guidelines, and policy compliance requirements at global and regional levels as needed.
  • Work with external suppliers and internal stakeholders, and finance team to resolve vendor invoice management discrepancies regularly.
  • Update the saving/cost avoidance number regularly for the Capex/Opex projects in the Accolade tracker.
  • Co-work with the procurement to drive challenging and continuous improvement of projects.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
  • 5+ years of experience in the procurement and sourcing for indirect relevant purchases, equipment, or services.
  • Experience in sourcing, evaluating, engaging, and negotiating with the suppliers regionally and globally.
  • Experience in commercial terms & conditions negotiation, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Able to develop and maintain the relationship with cross-functional teams within the company.

  • Communication skills (written and oral), good command of English language. Ability to speak in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
