Job Summary

The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairing, and assembling wooden structures, fixtures, furniture, and other related components used in production or project installations. This role ensures all work is completed according to design specifications, safety standards, and company quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervisory & Leadership

Lead, supervise, and guide the carpentry team in daily tasks and project assignments.

2. Project Coordination

Review technical drawings, specifications, and work orders before execution. Coordinate with the production team, designer, and site supervisor to ensure work aligns with project requirements. Plan daily/weekly schedules and ensure materials and tools are available.

3. Quality Control

Ensure carpentry work meets company standards and client expectations. Conduct inspections at various stages of production or installation. Identify and resolve defects, errors, or deviations in workmanship.

4. Safety & Compliance

Ensure all carpentry activities comply with workplace safety regulations and SOPs. Conduct safety briefings, enforce PPE usage, and report any safety incidents.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of daily work progress, material usage, and team attendance. Report delays, challenges, or resource requirements to the Production/Site Manager. Allocate manpower and monitor work progress to ensure efficiency and productivity. Provide training, coaching, and support to carpenters and helpers when necessary.

Requirements

Minimum SPM or equivalent; technical certificate in Carpentry

/ Furniture Making / Technical Field

or related field is an added advantage. Proven minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Carpenter, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Skilled in operating carpentry tools and equipment safely. Ability to read and understand technical drawings. Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks. Team player with good time management and attention to detail.
