\xef\xbb\xbfCompany Background: US MNCLocation: George Town, PenangTenure: Contract - 6 MonthsHeadcount: 1Position: Cash Application SpecialistRole Responsibilities:

  • Accurate daily payment applications to customer accounts (Lockbox /Check, ACH/Wire, Credit Card)
  • General accounting and accounts receivable duties such as journal entry, chargebacks, and customer refunds/overpayments
  • Research and resolve issues related to unidentified payments, unapplied cash, or missing payment information
  • Process credit card payments as necessary, including credit card clearing/account recons Prepare and forward customer requests such as credit memos, invoices, account statements, etc.
  • Assist in all payment-related needs including, but not limited to, payment investigations, account reconciliation, customer ACH set-up, banking information requests Interact with customers and banking institutions to resolve payment related inquiries and issues
  • Proactively identify customer behavior trends and follow up with the appropriate parties
  • Follow all company processes, procedures and best practices while assessing downstream impact to mitigate any recurring issues
  • Engage in and suggest continuous process improvement ideas
  • Ensure all contacts are handled in a manner consistent with our brand and values to maintain a cohesive place of business
  • Perform other responsibilities as required
  • Month end retail cash analysis and import journal entry
  • Intercompany cash transfer between ERP system reconciliation
  • Track previous ownership cash import files vs cash received
  • Review/advise on monthly transactional cash application journal entry activity
Skills and Experience:
  • 3+ years\' experience in an accounts receivable or cash applications setting
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor\'s Degree in related field such as accounting or finance preferred
  • Good mathematical background and understanding
  • Working knowledge of electronic banking and cash applications software
  • Excel proficiency; Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF THEN, filters, formatting, charts, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a consistent, positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives
  • Capable of working productively and effectively with minimal direction or supervision
  • Ability to multitask and manage time to meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills
  • Possess accurate data entry skills and detail oriented
