The

Category Manager

is responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize product selection, pricing, merchandising, and supplier partnerships for assigned categories.This role ensures the right products are available at the right time to maximize sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The Category Manager works closely with suppliers, store teams, and marketing to drive category performance while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Job Responsibilities: -



1. Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales, profitability, and market share.

2. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to optimize product selection and pricing.

3. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely stock replenishment.

4. Ensure effective product merchandising and display strategies to enhance visibility and sales.

5. Monitor inventory levels, stock rotation, and shelf-life to prevent overstocking and wastage.

6. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotions, in-store activations, and seasonal campaigns.

7. Conduct regular store visits to assess category performance and ensure merchandising compliance.

8. Ensure all category-related products comply with government regulations, food safety, and labeling standards.

9. Track and analyze category performance using key metrics such as sales growth, profit margins, and inventory turnover.

10. Provide data-driven recommendations for category improvements and operational efficiencies.

Job Requirement: -



Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field. Minimum

3-5 years

of experience in buying, category management, merchandising, or retail operations, preferably in a retail industry or FMCG environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision-making. Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills. Knowledge of retail merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory management. Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and adapt to changing market demands. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and retail management systems.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
