Job Description

We're looking for a Catering Officer to oversee daily meal services at Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre. You'll ensure nutritious, halal-compliant meals are delivered on time, lead and support kitchen staff, and maintain top standards in food quality, safety, and service for patients, staff, and special events.

JOB REQUIREMENTS



Diploma or Degree in Food Service Management / Hospitality / Culinary Arts or equivalent. Minimum 2-3 years' experience in catering/food service operations (experience in hospital or institutional catering is advantages) Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and quality standards. Must obtain or be willing to obtain Halal Executive Certification (JAKIM-recognized). Strong organizational and leadership skills. Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Willing to work in Kuantan, Pahang.

Knowledge in HACCP / MSQH / ISO is advantages. Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Operations Management



Supervise day-to-day catering and meal service operations. Coordinate food production and service schedules to meet mealtime deadlines. Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards. Ensure meals are delivered accurately and on time, including for special dietary requirements.

Staff Supervision & Coordination



Lead and guide kitchen and service staff during operations. Prepare and manage staff duty rosters and leave schedules. Conduct on-the-job training for food handlers on hygiene, safety, and SOPs. Assist in performance monitoring and reporting.

Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance



Ensure strict compliance with HACCP / MSQH / MOH and other relevant food safety regulations. Act as Halal Executive and ensure full compliance with JAKIM halal certification standards. Implement and maintain Halal Assurance System (HAS) and all related documentation. Conduct regular kitchen inspections and maintain hygiene records. Implement corrective actions for non-conformance issues.

Inventory & Cost Control



Monitor stock levels of ingredients, packaging, and equipment. Assist in receiving, checking, and recording deliveries. Minimize food wastage and control operational costs.

Customer Service & Communication



Liaise with internal departments / clients to meet catering needs. Handle feedback and complaints professionally and promptly. Support special functions, events, and VIP service as required.

Administration & Reporting



Prepare daily meal production and service reports. Assist in menu planning and costing. Support procurement activities and documentation.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
