Job Description

Hygiene and Safety

:

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Food Preparation and Cooking

:

Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant's menu and quality standards. Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the presentation requirements.

Section Management

:

Oversee a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, saute, pastry, etc.). Ensure all kitchen stations are adequately staffed and well-organized.

Quality Control

:

Monitor food quality and presentation. Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the required standards.

Inventory and Stock Management

:

Manage inventory for the designated section. Order and stock ingredients and supplies as needed.

Hygiene and Safety

:

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Training and Development

:

Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and apprentices. Provide guidance and feedback to improve their skills and efficiency.

Collaboration

:

Work closely with other kitchen staff and the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Assist in menu planning and development as needed.

Requirements:



Experience and Skills

: Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a kitchen. Proficiency in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Excellent understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.

Education

:

A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred but not always required.

Personal Attributes

:

Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Stamina

:

Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to food preparation and cooking.

Flexibility

:

Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Local Knowledge

:

Familiarity with local cuisine and ingredients can be an advantage, especially in a place where local flavors and dishes are integral to the dining experience.
