Job Responsibilities Responsible in the preparation of all foods as indicated in the menu plan, recipes and method for the assigned areas. Responsible to take care of all order from immediate superior on duty, pertaining to specific assignment that may rise without notice, due to special functions, itinerary or other unforeseen changes. Assign and check on tasks done by the junior cook when routine work for various reason, can\'t be executed in the given timeframe. Control portion size, minimize wastage and present menu items according to standard set by the company. Analyze and make judgment to ensure appropriate production. Ensure that all dishes are correctly garnished, the correct portion and size, and presentation To reduce wastage to a minimum by adhering to dish specifications to the company standard. Ensure that all foods are prepared to the highest standard for taste, look and food safety. Directly report to the Sous Chef/Chef De Cuisine. Ensure that the section being assigned to is being kept clean and tidy at all times. To maintain a high standard of hygiene in kitchen areas and all equipment to the company standards. Ensure the efficient set up and operation of the section assigned to. To ensure that all junior cook are made familiar with the machines and tools they encounter in the section. To report any broken equipment or that may require maintenance attention within the section. Assumes any other duties that may be assigned from time to time , Job Requirements Professional communication skills are required. Ability to take direction and give direction. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized. Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge. Ability to train cook in basic and special culinary techniques whenever time allows it. Ability to develop and train to a level whereby junior staff can run his section during his absence.
