Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and
reliable Chef
to join our kitchen team at Kagayaki Steamboat & Grill. The ideal candidate has experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and maintaining high hygiene standards. Experience in hot pot, soup bases, and Asian cuisine is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook hot pot soup bases, dipping sauces, side dishes, and cooked items
Ensure all ingredients (meat, seafood, vegetables, handmade items) are prepared fresh and presented according to standards
Monitor food quality, portioning, and consistency
Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Coordinate with service staff to ensure timely food supply during peak hours
Assist in inventory management: stock rotation, receiving goods, checking freshness
Support menu updates, new recipe testing, and kitchen improvements
Ensure equipment is properly handled and report any malfunction
Requirements
At least 1-2 years of kitchen or chef experience (hot pot/Asian cuisine preferred)
Strong knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and safety standards
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle peak periods
Team player with good communication skills
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Responsible, punctual, and committed to quality
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
