Discover how you can grow your career, make impact and drive real change with our Winning Team today.Working Arrangement HybridThe opportunityThe Chief Agency Officer (CAO) is member of Manulife Insurance Executive Committee (EXCO) and is accountable for the profitable growth and quality development of the entire Agency Distribution Channel for the Malaysia operation. The CAO will oversee the development and implementation of the longer-term strategic direction to ensure alignment with Business and Profit goals in addition to achieving results in the short term.A strong and growing agency is critical for Manulife Malaysia. Manulife Malaysia has an incredibly strong brand, product suite and customer service and provides a great platform for continuing to grow our agency.
The CAO is expected to deliver on plan sales and earnings by focusing on driving strong recruitment, activation and productivity in the branch channel, building out the Agency network, and generally optimise across all platforms to maximize our growth and reach in the Malaysian market.The CAO is also responsible for developing a strong Distribution leadership team, building a profitable agency distribution channel and a professional and ethical agency distribution force.Responsibilities:Provide leadership and strategic direction of the Manulife Agency distribution channel in Malaysia.Establish, grow (gain material market share) and develop a market leading agency distribution channel resulting in the achievement of Sales, New Business Value, and Active agent targets.This includes:

  • Optimizing all the Agency platforms within Manulife Malaysia
  • Increase opportunity to deepen customer relationships and its execution with other distribution channels
  • Design and implement agency compensation, recruitment, recognition and incentive programs.
  • Ensure adequate training and proficiency of the agents, managers as well as distribution staff on selling skills, management skills, performance management, product knowledge, etc.
  • Maintain high levels of integrity and ethics within the agency business practices and ensure alignment with local regulatory requirements.
  • Building bench and develop key talent within the agency channel for eventual leadership positions within the organization

  • Growth of Agency division within an agreed cost framework

What we are looking for
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in the insurance industry with a proven track record of agency sales management of a large agency, training and development, or experience in managing insurance operations within the Company and demonstrably good working relationships with the field.
  • Strong understanding of business financials, with the ability to deliver results within financial parameters.
  • Proven capability to transform a sales force, business or perations to move towards a more digital, and efficient sales force, and/or business.
  • Strategic thinking with very strong execution capabilities
  • Ability to lead/coach/develop/influence peers through strong interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills.
  • Ability to \xe2\x80\x9cwalk the talk\xe2\x80\x9d through in depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of the agency distribution system, as well as the challenges of a developing market.
