Job Description

A Childcare Assistant supports the lead teacher or childcare supervisor in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The role involves assisting with daily routines, engaging children in learning and play activities, and ensuring their well-being throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the supervision and monitoring of children at all times. Help organize and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities. Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom or play area. Support children's emotional, physical, and social development. Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and nap routines as needed. Observe and report any signs of illness, injury, or developmental concerns to the supervisor or lead teacher. Foster a positive and respectful environment for children, parents, and coworkers. Communicate effectively with parents during drop-off and pick-up. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

Minimum SPM or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Basic first aid and CPR certification is an added advantage. Knowledge of child development and childcare best practices.

Experience:

1-2 years of working experience in a childcare or preschool setting (entry-level applicants may be considered if passionate and willing to learn).

Skills and Competencies:

Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Responsible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team. Physically fit and able to manage the demands of active children.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
