Job Description

1. Managed Care Organisations (MCO)

1.1 The postholder will be responsible in processing all MCO / Insurance cases for inpatients and outpatient as well as obtaining pre-admission coverage if requested by patient. This will include the following:

i) ensure all medical report or claim forms are send to the respective ward for doctor\xe2\x80\x99s completion.

ii) daily checking on all medical report or claim forms in the ward whether it has been completed and if it has been completed to fax to the respective MCO / insurance company together with any others required documents.

iii) Liase with the MCOs or Insurance company on the coverage status.

iv) Liase with doctors and patients on the progress of claim and coverage status.

v) Check approval letter to ensure that the amount of covered and uncovered charges tallies with the total on proforma bill.

vi) Batch the completed set of documents for filing.

vii) Follow up on all unsettle documentation after office hours.

2. Guarantee Letters

2.1 The postholder is to screen all guarantee letters upon acceptance.

2.2 To verify, record and to define status into the hospital information system.

3. Admission & Deposit Collection

3.1 The postholder will assist in the admission process of patients in accordance to prescribed registration process of the Hospital. These include explanation of the implications, verifying personal details and entering these data onto the computer. Finally, ensures that the patient and his guarantor sign a statement of undertaking to pay the Hospital bill.

3.2 The postholder will assist in ensuring appropriate deposits collection and proforma bill arrangement.

3.3 The postholder will undertake such other duties of the Department related to these functions which may be assigned from time to time by the Patient Administration Manager and Financial Controller.
