Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Set up CNC machines (milling, turning, grinding, or other relevant equipment).
Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations.
Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, or CAM software when required.
Monitor machining operations to ensure quality and accuracy of finished products.
Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
Adjust machine settings and replace tooling as needed to maintain tolerances.
Perform routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues.
Maintain accurate production records, including job setup sheets and inspection reports.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Requirements
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role.
Ability to
read and interpret measuring tools
, including:
Analogue caliper (vernier caliper)
Micrometer (inside, outside, depth)
Dial indicators and gauges
Proficiency in CNC machine operation (milling, turning, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of CNC programming (G-code/M-code).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360).
Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 or other quality management systems.
Working Conditions
Workshop/Factory environment with exposure to machinery noise.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
May involve standing for long periods and handling heavy materials.
