The CNC Programmer will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs for 3-axis and 4-axis milling or lathe machines. This role requires strong technical skills in programming, tooling design, and process optimization to ensure high precision, productivity, and cost efficiency in machining operations. The programmer will work closely with the engineering and production teams to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Create and optimize CNC programs, setups, and machining processes for 3-axis and 4-axis Milling or Lathe machines based on engineering drawings and customer requirements.
Determine the detailed machining process and collaborate with production and vendors to define the best strategy.
Design and document jigs and fixtures to support production efficiency.
Analyze technical specifications and perform necessary machining calculations.
Simulate and optimize tool paths to achieve desired cycle time, accuracy, and surface finish.
Support first article (FA) and internal approval (IA) stages, providing troubleshooting and corrective actions.
Assist the Sales team at RFQ stage with estimates on setup/cycle time, tooling cost, material specification, and fixture requirements.
Coordinate with planning to ensure programming readiness according to production schedule.
Ensure a minimum of 85% first-attempt yield for released programs.
Maintain safety, quality, stability, simplicity, and cost-efficiency in all programming activities.
Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to workplace safety standards.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Engineering HOD.
Requirements
Education:
Minimum SPM or higher.
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in CNC Milling or CNC Lathe programming within the precision engineering or machining industry.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in
Mastercam

SolidWorks
, or
Fusion
for CNC programming.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and cutting parameters.
Knowledge of
